Steve Shuly Michaels
Steve Michaels is Principal and Chief Investment Officer at Quasar Capital Ventures and has over 30 years of experience in financial services and investment management. He also serves as Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer for SDS Creative Technologies/Dripstone an affiliate of Quasar Capital Ventures. Steve also served in similar capacities for other affiliates including California Real Estate Ventures and Wrightwood Real Estate Ventures. Previously, Steve served as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at First Western Capital Management, managing multiple high yield strategies and overseeing the firm’s credit research. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Directors and the Investment Policy and Management Committees. Prior to joining First Western, Steve served as Executive Vice President at Financial Management Advisors managing the high yield department and non-investment grade portfolios. He was also a member of the Board of Directors, Managers and investment Policy. Steve previous experience included serving as Senior High Yield Analyst for Schroder Wertheim Investment Services, a Futures Credit Analyst at Bear Stearns & Company and Senior Credit Analyst for Shearson Lehman Hutton. Steve earned his MBA at the University of Southern California and his BS in Finance and Economics at Jacksonville University.
